Styx - A band whose time has come (again)

Let's start with the obvious truth. Styx is the band we all loved back then, and if we'd had the sense, we'd never have let it go. Now, we're older, and we're coming back to it.

As a young man, I loved this band. Then, when the 'era' faded, so did my interest in Styx. The problem was, the music just would not let go. It was stuck somewhere in the back of my mind. Styx' music became a part of the 'soundtrack' of a my life. It was a part of our generation.

Think of this:

You come home, tired and sore from a long day of work. You're sick and tired. The world sucks. Nothing is good; nothing is right.
Then, you see her; the woman with whom you built a life. She's equally tired, equally sore. Her life sucks just as bad as yours. You look at each other in wordless exhaustion.
In that wordless moment, you hear

"You know it's you Babe
Whenever I get weary and I've had enough
Feel like giving up
You know it's you Babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that it's true
Babe, I love you."

One of you manages a weak smile, and suddenly it's all bearable because you're together and you've made it through another one.
Faintly, in the corners of your mind you hear it:

"These are the best of times . . ."

And life doesn't suck quite so bad anymore. Thanks, Styx.

This CD is a great re-intro to a big part of the music we lived by and with all those years ago. The "digital re-mastering" (whatever) process is clean with no 'his and pop.' There's a new version of "Lady" that's really worth it. If you're like me, and all your old Styx is vinyl, do yourself a favor and get this CD. You'll thank yourself for it.

Styx greatest hits is a great single disc compilation of songs from this great progressive rock band.this album contains most of their classics like Lorelei,babe,mr roboto and lady 95.very highly recommended.for those looking for a better compilation can opt for their box set Come sail away.
